Volvo Ocean Race to buoy turn
Warning! This is an english for dummies post.
All The VOR fleet stands in Baltimore Harbor. The 5th leg is Finished and ABN AMRO wins again. Great job for Brasil 1, Torben Grael’s crew who beat Pail Cayard’s Pirates of Caribbean. The race will restart on May 7th, from Annapolis to New York a short 400 nm leg, before facing the 7th leg’s 3200 nm of the classic ocean racing route to Porth Mouth on May 11th.
I think that everyone who loves sailing wishes to be part of this epic adventure once in his life. Even if things changed from Withbred Age and now a day organisation and technology are quite advanced it remains a 32.000 nm race that can change the ones own mind for ever.
For us terrestrial sailor there is a virtual alternative. Dowload the Virtual Spactator and follow the race second by second with live data coming from telemtry. Routes, weather conditions and everything you can imagine affacts the avigation direclty on your desktop with 3d views.
