Bmw Oracle racing performed well this summer. Larry Ellison team won German Sailing Grand Prix and Trieste Challenge. Here beat Sebastian Col (Areva Challenge), World match raging tour  leader
They will face again in next World match raging tour stage in Bermunda Gold Cup Oct 10.
He is one of the most talented
match-racers ever to practice the discipline.

Dickson has won the World Championship of Match Race Sailing three
times, and has won more than 20 international match-race regattas.

His talent reaches beyond one-on-one racing and into fleet racing.
He’s won Maxi World Championships. He’s won legs of the Whitbread Round
the World Race. He’s won in dinghys. He’s won in one-designs.

As skipper of New Zealand’s first challenger, KZ-7, Dickson
took every race to his opponent. He and crew won 37 times in 38 starts,
easily dominating the three round robins and their semifinal opponent.
But then Dickson and crew ran into a steamrolling Dennis Conner in the
Louis Vuitton Cup Final, and the Stars & Stripes crew thwarted Dickson’s improbable run.

Dickson would return for the 1992, 1995 and 2003 Louis Vuitton
Cups, but the best he could ever finish was 2nd, which he repeated in
2003 with Oracle BMW Racing.

He skippered the Whitbread 60 Tokio
in the 1993-’94 Whitbread Round the World Race.

Dickson shared the helm Ellison’s
78-footer Sayonara in winning four Maxi World Championships.

It was natural that Ellison would hire Dickson when he brought the
assets that became Oracle BMW Racing. Dickson was a consultant to the
team through the first round of the Louis Vuitton Cup, but when Ellison
became unhappy with the team’s performance he called Dickson to return
and take control. Dickson agreed after some coaxing, and Oracle
promptly went on an 11-race winning streak.

Oracle BMW Racing ultimately lost to eventual America’s Cup winner
Alinghi in the Louis Vuitton Cup Final, but Dickson is back in charge
of Oracle BMW for America’s Cup 2007.
